Hey Mr Thief! You Are Being Watched!

My brother woke up one morning last week and found the money in his and the wife’s purse which they left by the bedside, two hand phones, a bag, gold chain, touch N go from the car were missing. When they checked thru their house, they found that the house keys and car keys were lying on the floor, other than that everything were intact.

The first person they suspected was their Indonesian maid which she denied she has anything to do with it. There was no proof that she did it and according to my brother, she can be trusted. Well, for me, hmmm ...frankly I dont trust anyone.

Although my brother reported the case to the police station, they are not able to claim any losses from the insurance company because there were no sign of breaking in.

Now my brother is seriously thinking of installing the ADT security system at home like the alarm and home security surveillance system. It should be a good move to keep his house under monitoring 24 hours a day and 7 days and week.

With the crime rate and burglary on the rise day by day, a good home security system is important to help minimize the chances of you and your family dealing with these crimes, it also provide safety for a family and give complete peace of mind whether we are at home or away from home.

I suspect it's the maid. You can't trust them completely. Installing the CCTV is a good idea. Nowadays you can monitor your home from your handphone or computer.

foongpc - I am thinking the same. But my stubborn brother refuse to accept that the maid, he treated so well, could do such a thing. :(:(

some people prefer living in denial to prevent painful heartbreaks.

cHiEn, you are right, it is better to face the truth, act accordingly and accept the consequences.

Yeah! Perhaps nowadays we should really invest in a CCTV! Just to be safe. Moreover it could potentially avoid crime right?

molly said...

Tekkuas, yes, although it is not a 100% solution, at least we're able to find out what actually happened at home when the maid is left alone with young children.

that is a horrible situation. apart from the cctv the only other thing would be a safe.

would be great to catch them in the act though wouldnt it!

never trust the police.. I had twice experience with them and nothing can be done! and they give you crap excuses!! :p Anyway, after this, I hope your brother be more careful too :)

CCTV is a good decision. So that when the 'cat' is away, the 'mice' will also be caught!! Hard to do policing in our own house, so CCTV will help :)

If the maid is in the house, did the maid notice anything wrong? Someone may have open the door for someone to come in.

Maybe your brother should get a Dog.

Tina, that sound horrible to me too. Hope my brother have the time soon to fixed up the cctv.

molly said...

Cynthia, I agreed with you, never trust them. Hey, take good care of your baby ya! :):)

molly said...

Keats, I think it helps too!

LEon, definitely someone must have opened the door for someone to come in, but who is that someone? My brother refused to accept that is the job of the maid and there is no proof. Anyway welcome to my blog. :):)

Some burglar use a long stick and try to fish stuff in the house through the windows. But there is not sign of break in better check whether they have jammed you doors or windows locking devices....this is also one method they use! If they do that very likely they will be back soon!

You r right that maids should never be trusted 100 per cent. Its better to fix a CCTV if you have a foreigner at home.

Jasmine, I dont trust maid at all but is hard to tell my brother and sister not to trust their maids. *sigh*

Cath J, In my brother's case, I think it helps to find out who is the culprit but off course to glance thru the video everyday can be a tough job for the busy people like my bro and sis-in-law.

Tammy, this is the second times my bro's house was broken in. Fist time was few years back.

I had CCTV installed at my parents house in my home town. Provide safety and a peace of mind. Better be safe than sorry.

Horlic said...

Nah, i will never trust my maid! CCTV to monitor maid still preferred. At least we do something.

molly said...

Tching, right, is better to install one for peace of mind.

molly said...

Horlic, although is not 100% dependable, at least it helps.

You should install the CCTV.. Never trust a stranger too much.. The maid just seems suspicious. No signs of break-in.. Go figure!

molly said...

Cashmere, y're right, never trust them. I went that day and spoke to the maid, I could sense her guiltiness. She really can act.
